Amran

Amran

Amran is possibly the epicenter of Arabian leopard consciousness in Yemen.  Hussein Qahzem, Yemen's most prolific leopard trapper is from Adh Dhil'ain in the Wada'a sub-district of Khamr.  Hussein has abandoned leopard trapping because he has the vision to understand that protecting leopards is more likely to have a sustainable, positive impact on his community's prosperity than eradicating them.  The Foundation faces many challenges in addressing the leopard conservation needs in Amran, but we see it as a key element in achieving our mission.
