Program & Strategy

Achieving the Foundation’s goal of a sustainably managed population of wild Arabian leopards living in harmony with local communities in Yemen is a long-term proposition that requires a multipronged approach.  A key element involves increasing public awareness both locally and globally.  It also involves improving the breeding success of captive Arabian leopards in Sana’a and Taiz Zoos and integrating them into the regional captive breeding effort.  Finally, it means lobbying for the establishment of protected areas in Yemen where leopards and their prey can live unmolested.
